Queer Company

A new arts project for LGBTQ+/curious young people living in St Helens with Queer Artist Amy Pennington

Back to Projects

We’re working with Queer Artist Amy Pennington to bring together a new group of young people living in St Helens who identify as LGBTQ+/ LGBTQ+ curious/ an ally to work on a new arts project.

Together Amy and the young people will explore different art forms and cultural experiences, such as day trips to art events; creative workshops and other cultural activities; developing a frame of reference and a common language to create new artworks together. The resulting artwork will be shown as part of St Helens PRIDE in July and the Young People’s Take Over, an arts festival for young people in St Helens in August – September this year.

Additionally the artist will also work with the young people to programme events as part of St Helens Council’s Arts In Libraries project – Cultural Hubs, an exciting Arts in Libraries project that brings a fantastic range of arts events into all St.Helens Libraries.
