Want to learn the art of making tasty, transformative sauerkraut? And use the power of words and spells to imagine new futures?

Sauerkraut Spell Making is a slow-paced, ritual-inspired workshop, over four sessions with Unfinished Business (Leo Kay and Anna Smith). We’ll explore recipes, art, community empowerment and activism to write our own spells and make sauerkraut together.

Sauerkraut is fermented cabbage - the transformation of a vegetable through interactions between unseeable micro-organisms into a more digestible and health giving food. This process conjures images of alchemy and magic, inspiring our spell writing - no creative writing experience necessary!

At the end of the experience, you will take away your own jar of sauerkraut, a copy of a collaboratively-made zine, and have the opportunity to share your spell/poem at a tasting event.

About the workshops

Wednesday 12th October, 7.30pm - 9.30pm - 2 hour online introductory workshop (Zoom)
Between 12th - 20th October - one-to-one online tarot reading with Leo (Zoom). This session will last up to an hour, at a time to suit you.
Sunday 30th October, 11am - 6pm, Incredible Edibles (Knowsley) - Sauerkraut Spell Making workshop (lunch provided). Please dress up warm and wear wellies or shoes that you don't mind getting muddy, as we'll mostly be outside for this session
Friday 11th November, 6pm - 9pm and/or Saturday 12th November, 10am-12pm, Heart of Glass (St Helens) - Zine making workshop
Saturday 12th November, 7.30pm, Lucem House (St Helens) - Sauerkraut Spell Sharing - a public event to share what you create!

Recommended for participants aged 18+. For up to 14 participants.
