We’re thrilled to announce that This Place, This Stage, a bold new cultural partnership in Knowsley, has secured £650,000 of funding from Arts Council England, with additional support from key partners including Youth Music, National Lottery Heritage Fund, and the Irish Arts Council.

This ambitious three-year creative programme is designed to put children and young people at the heart of cultural life in Knowsley, creating lasting change across schools, communities, and the local creative sector.

Led by Knowsley Council, with Heart of Glass as core partners, along with Shakespeare North Playhouse, MAKE CIC, and Adlib, the programme will build long-term pathways into creative engagement, arts careers, and a more inclusive cultural future for the borough.

Driven by youth voice at every level - from programming to governance and guided by a Place Partnership Board, the ambition is to create a younger, more diverse and ambitious cultural scene, a stronger talent pool for creative and technical roles, creative education embedded across local schools, more visible, accessible pathways for young people to lead and create and a sustainable cultural infrastructure that contributes to local pride, identity, and regeneration.
