Sue Flowers
Sue Flowers is an artist and director of Green Close: an arts organisation in North Lancashire that has a strong track record of leading Creative Health initiatives.
She works closely with the Culture Health & Wellbeing Alliance and was part of the team that co-produced the Creative Health Quality Framework. Sue is a qualified Mental Health First Aider and uses her creative practice to support others with their wellbeing. Her leadership of Phoenix Rising, a partnership programme delivering art, nature, movement and heritage was a finalist in the National Academy of Social Prescribing (NASP) Awards, 2024.
Sue is currently working as a Co-Investigator with Liverpool University, on the AHRC funded Coastal Community & Creative Health Research project in Blackpool, mobilising community assets to tackle health inequalities (2024-2027). She is passionate about the role of art in affecting positive change within society and also works as the regional Network Manager for the Contemporary Visual Arts Network, Northwest.
