Heart of Glass is delighted to be working with Westfield Street Music Festival on a programme of arts activity for this year’s festival taking place on June 7th.
Heart of Glass has supported the development of a Family Friendly Hub, locating our hugely successful Family Art Club format at The Citadel on Waterloo Street; offering a range of free family friendly drop-in activities over the course of the afternoon of June 7th.
In addition to the family friendly hub, on Westfield Street itself Heart of Glass will launch the festival with a specially devised performance by artists Harlequin Dynamite – a contemporary music group made up of brass and electronica with a vibrant visual identity. Harlequin Dynamite will present an adapted version of HEX, which first premiered as part of Liverpool’s Light Night, supported by Open Culture.
Hex is a performance of sound and visual elements that premiered as part of Liverpool Light Night (supported by Open Culture). The project will be adapted specifically for Westfield Street Music Festival. The performance features two opposing dynamics, one a colourful and vibrant tribal essence and the second a more digital and clinical electronic feel that will combine to make a performance in the round on Westfield Street. Gowned performers will move up and down the street culminating in a performance outside Zoo Bar. The performance is scheduled to begin around midday.
