The event WITH FOR ABOUT: Conversations About Collaboration will include opportunities to network, as well as critical conversations led by leading practitioners in this field exploring themes including Public Art + Publics, Validation Beyond the Gallery, Working in Context and Approaches to Professional Development.

This is a sharing event and critical reflection day for artists, producers and curators from across art form working within or interested in the field of social arts practice.

  • Do you work with people when creating work?
  • Do your collaborators share an interest, space or place?
  • Does your work respond to social and community themes, situations and contexts?
  • Does your work often take place outside of traditional art spaces?

In the morning

Preceding the discussion event (and over coffee) you are invited to join us for a series of short presentations of selected work commissioned by Heart of Glass during its inaugural year, as well as a chance to network informally. This will be chaired by producer Debbie Chan and artist Claire Weetman.

Prototype Projects presentations by artists, Ian Greenall, Kevin Crooks, Michelle Wren, Naoise Johnson-Martin and Rhiannon Parry (Yellow Door Artists). Full line-up to be announced shortly.

In the afternoon

Discussions and conversations with contributors including:

Chrissie Tiller, Laurie Peake, Idle Women, Joshua Sofaer, Mary McCarthy, Patrick Fox, Axisweb, Kathryn Dempsey, Anthony Schrag, Britt Jurgensen, Evie Manning, Ian Brownbill and Sheila Ghelani.

In the evening

In the evening, following the conference, you are invited to join us for SCOTTEE’S CAMP at The Citadel Theatre, an evening of cabaret and comedy with a twist (and late bar).

‘Cabaret hero Scottee has carved out a serious name for himself – he is in danger of becoming a full-on star… viva Camp!’ Time Out
