Heart of Glass is an arts commissioning project supporting work made with, for and about St Helens people and place. Funded with assistance from Arts Council England’s Creative People and Places programme, our main aim is to get more people, from all sectors of the community, involved in the arts. Our artistic programme aims to create a space for dialogue, research and experimentation for local citizens and artists alike, local people and artists together; placing art in direct interaction with all the areas of human activity which form society.
We are currently looking to recruit Board Trustees.
We are currently seeking to strengthen our Board, and are looking to appoint a number of charity Trustees with a wide range of skills and experience, to support the Chair and Director.
We are keen to ensure that our Board has a wide range of experience and expertise, and are looking for passionate individuals to help raise the profile of Heart of Glass, locally, nationally and internationally.
Board Members should have an interest Contemporary Art and community regeneration, and have experience at a senior level within the public and/or private sectors. They should have a diverse professional network, with effective advocacy and communication skills.

Board membership is voluntary, although reasonable travel and other expenses will be reimbursed.
Although selection of trustees is not a public appointment, the seven principles of public life as defined by the Nolan Commission (selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership) are applicable to this role.
