Operatic diva Le Gateau Chocolat arrived in St Helens this week to check out the venue for a one night only performance.

The British-born Nigerian Opera star will performing in The Cone Entrance of The World of Glass Museum on Friday, November 13th as part of #takeoverStHelens.

The self proclaimed Diva with a law degree and a big heart was excited by the challenge ahead.

Le Gateau said: “It’s an incredible acoustic space, I just need to work with it! The show itself will be leaning to more off the classic and operatic stuff, the space lends itself to that kind of material.”

Discovering his talent at the not so tender age of 16, Le Gateau’s career has since rocketed, seeing him training with members of London’s Royal Opera House, singing for the Queen as part of the Jubilee Flotilla and being recognised as one of London’s Top 10 Cabaret Stars by Time Out. Le Gateau has performed at prestigious venues around the world including the Tate Britain, Royal Albert Hall,

Le Gateau added: “I have a law degree and I was going to be a lawyer. Now I’m here in St Helens singing in a chimney in a frock, it’s far more interesting!”
