An alternative walking tour through the legendary, the lost and the living histories of St. Helens!

Join Artist Marcia Farquhar on her outsider’s journey from the warm waters and tropical fish of England’s first canal and the lost industries of glass and pills, to the pub, the music shop, and the music hall. Marcia Farquhar works in performance, installation, video and object making, and much of her practice revolves around the stories and interactions of everyday life. A Song for St. Helens with Marcia Farquhar

Join Marcia at 12.00 noon at the Hotties outside the entrance to The Range, and bring a fish if you wish. You are still welcome if fishless!
After fish lobbing and some words about the onward journey, the tour will proceed to Hunt & Darton Café (No.6 Church Square) for hot drinks. The tour will continue to Darwin’s Guitar Shop (George Street) arriving at 1.15pm for a musical interlude. After this, at about 2.00pm, it will be moving on to The George Pub. At 2.30pm the tour moves towards Victoria Square and contemplation of missing crown. It will be moving on by 3.00pm en route for the Citadel and ending with experimental entertainment.
